SATURDAY: invites hunting
first, we went to printsonalities where we saw so many beautiful invitations. i got a bit frustrated that the girl there couldn't give me a set price on the invites that i wanted. as i was going through their samples, i'd chance upon a really nice one so i'd ask her how much a set was. she'd look at the invite, then go "hmmmm....110." then i'd flip through the samples again, then upon finding another nice set of invites, i'd ask her how much and she'd go "hmmmm....95." what's with the hmmmmm?
anyhoo, i saw about 3 or 4 beautiful ones that schmuck and i agreed on, so we're waiting for the hmmmm girl's boss, noky, to email us the final price. can't wait!!! the hmmmm girl said it would take only 15 days for them to produce the invites once we've ordered. that probably means we'd already have the final output by early feb, and as early as march, we can already start calling for the rsvp. cool!
after going to printsonalities, we wanted to check out these 2 invites suppliers in rockwell (paper elegance and paperie). i got the list from the W@W directory. anyhoo, schmuck and i got lost on the way to rockwell (we're makati dumbasses...), then when we finally got there, it turns out that paper elegance is no longer there. so that left the paperie.
gedemit! we spent about one minute in the shop because we saw that their invites cost an arm and a leg...and a torso, i reckon. bejeezus!!! there was this one invite that i saw and it was so simple. at 25 pieces, it was like 14,000++. helloooooo?! schmuck and i practically ran out of the store. hahaha!
anyhoo, after that, schmuck and i decided that we'd make do with either QP or printsonalities.
SUNDAY: principal sponsors day!
schmuck was supposed to pick me up at 12nn last sunday so we could be at tita chiqui's house after lunch. tita chiqui is one of our principal sponsors and we wanted to make the "formal" visit. however, schmuck called me at about 10am to say that tita chiqui rescheduled us to 530pm.
so i spent sunday lunch at my lola's house in san pedro, laguna instead. it was my tito's birthday so there was a small celebration. two of my titos who are also our principal sponsors were also there, so they've been told as well. side kwento...i was so happy when i saw lola cause she's almost fully recovered na. she was already walking a little bit, and she even wanted to play mahjong already. now that's a sure sign that she's pretty well recovered! it's a real miracle that lola survived what she went through. and to think she's already 89 years old!
anyhoo, schmuck and i visited tita chiqui at 630pm na. tita was in malabon pa yata, so we ended up having dinner there. which is funny, because on the way there, schmuck and i were already preparing a script so that when we were asked to stay for dinner, we knew what to say so we didn't have to stay long at their house. hahaha! we are sooo bad....
dinner went well, and tita was asking me all sorts of questions about the wedding na. i got a teeny bit ticked off though, cause when tita learned that my color motif was champagne, she said that it wasn't a good color cause "hindi ka lilitaw!" i'll just blend in daw with my entourage. i know she means well and her point is that the bride should outshine everyone else. so i just let it pass and smiled my way through dinner. on the way home though, i told schmuck about it and he laughed and told me not to mind his tita. well, consider it done! hee!
the day ended very well, because schmuck and i learned that 3 of our principal sponsors who live in the US are coming home to attend our wedding. wowowooo!
well, the weekend was pretty loaded, and in a matter of a few days, we've already accomplished quite a lot:
- all our principal sponsors have been told, except one na lang
- the entire entourage has been informed.
- just waiting for supplier quotations for the invitations
- schmuck's baptismal and confirmation certificate are with me na
- our NSO certified birth certificates are with us as well
agenda for this coming weekend:
saturday - go to quezon to check out gifts for principal sponsors from this supposedly famous sculptor...haha!
sunday am - first fitting with merl
sunday pm - visit tito jess, one of our principal sponsors; he's the only one na lang who we haven't visited
am also now scouting for a hair & makeup artist (HMUA). i've called ross regala, jackie rivera, and lito something (i forgot his last name). gotta schedule trial sessions already. i still have to call barbi chan, toto bagamasmad and julian of fringe.
i don't even know how i can squeeze in my trials. i mean, these HMUAs are booked on weekends cause they have weddings. which means i can only have my trials during weekdays, but i have work. i don't want to take a leave naman just for my trials, cause i want to save all my leaves for my pre-wedding relaxation and our honeymoon. haaay....
i have been such a good girl the past 10 days. not a sip of coffee. not a puff of a ciggie.
i am in hell.
